An ideal maturity is not determined by age, rather it is determined by how you react to things and how you present yourself.
Maturity is also the ability to think, speak and act within your bounds dignity; because most times the level of your maturity will determine how well you can handle things in the midst of frustration.
When you claim to be mature, some certain things will not really be of interest to you anymore. In other words, you will begin to view things from a different perspective. You will begin to understand people and things differently.
Maturity will also help you to be more disciplined. In the sense that, you will not need anyone to tell you what to do, rather you will have them done with your own discretion.

As much as maturity is not by age, I think age is still a major determinant in maturity. An older person might have more knowledge and experience than a younger person. What do you think?
